Resident Association Committee Meeting
Double G Solutions LLC.   On March 30th, 2023; George with Double G Solutions stopped by the ROSS Program Office Unit 189 at Heritage Place Apartments and held a Cellphone and Tablet Giveaway! Double G Solutions visited with us from 1:00- 4:00 pm signing up residents who presented their ID, WIC, Medicaid, SNAP Benefits (approval letter) or any useful financial documentation. Residents were able to receive a free cellphone with high-speed 5G or 4G LTE data and with a $20.00 activation fee a tablet. For more information call (361)389-1269. Double G Solutions will be here every Thursday, same location and same hours. |
| Valentines' Party The Alice Housing Authority celebrated Valentine's Day with our elderly residents at La Bella Vida High- rise on February 14th, 2023 with a lunch. Staff at AHA made and served King Ranch Chicken Casserole with beans, Spanish rice, and cupcakes.  Residents that joined us at the Valentine's Day Party also voted on who would be 2023's Valentine King and Queen! The winners are Jerry and Maria! Congratulations!  |
| New Board Members Sworn in at Alice Housing Authority On January 18th, 2023, our Mayor Cynthia Carrasco swore in Anselma Aguirre as Vice Chairperson, Olga Acuna as Commissioner, and Angie Sendejo as Resident Commissioner. The Alice Housing Authority congratulates and looks forward to working with our new Board Members in 2023.  Board Members Lucy Munoz and Tabitha Davila were also honored this day for their valuable service and devotion to the Alice Housing Authority. Upon release of their duties as Board Members the Alice Housing Authority presented each member with a plaque. Thank you from the Alice Housing Authority.   |
| R.O.S.S. Program Grant Award 2022 The Alice Housing Authority applied for and was accepted to receive the ROSS Program Grant Award with HUD. The ROSS Program is focused on strengthening families by linking the AHA resident with agencies that provide education, training, employment, and career readiness. By utilizing a combination of community resources, the participant can accomplish personal goals. The ROSS Program promotes the idea of reducing the need for welfare assistance and assists the participant in making progress toward achieving economic independence and self-sufficiency.  |
